This 6" concrete flue was completely blocked by residue from smokeless fuel being washed back down the flue and collecting at one of two 45 deg. bends. I swept several 3" long bright orange 'carrots' out of the bottom of the flue, where the sulphur deposits had collected as stalactites! Photo taken with Rodtech UK system.

Dis-used flues left open to the elements allow access for all sorts of things, including water...a suitable cap prevents access from all sorts of unwanted guests.
